Although online support groups lack the face-to-face interaction of local support groups, they have the advantage of allowing you to communicate from the comfort of your own home during the current COVID pandemic. Because the Internet is accessible 24 hours a day, members can seek help at any time of day or night. Some options include:

  • LUNGevity Support Community- LUNGevity offers the largest online network of people coping with lung cancer.

  • Inspire- American Lung Association Lung Cancer Survivors Community- Inspire is a large community of lung cancer survivors who actively support each other day and night.
  • Cancer Care- CancerCare is a national non-profit organization that provides online support groups, telephone support groups, and face-to-face support groups for those in the New York Tri-State area.
  • The Cancer Survivors Network: The American Cancer Society's Cancer Survivors Network hosts discussion groups and chat rooms for cancer survivors and their loved ones.. In general, the American Cancer Society has been less involved in connecting people with lung cancer than lung cancer-specific organizations.
  • CancerCompass: Cancer Compass has an active message board where cancer survivors can ask questions and communicate with one another.
  • Online cancer support: When you join MyLifeLine, you can create a webpage for friends and family to keep them up-to-date about you and see how they can help and connect to others like you on the discussion boards.
