At Mount Sinai Heart, we have adopted the Press Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. The Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) is a formal public reporting initiative that asks our patients to rate their experiences regarding their inpatient stay. These ratings are shared with the public and impact our hospital’s reputation and standing in the community it serves. Our HCAHPS results also account for 35% of our value-based purchasing score, directly impacting the hospital’s Medicare payments. Research shows that Press Ganey clients score higher than non-clients for “Likelihood to Recommend” and are more likely to have the highest scores in the HCAHPS database. We receive monthly ratings from Press Ganey which we use to tailor our care to ensure our patients are satisfied with the care rendered in all facets and have a positive experience during a stressful time. In addition, Press Ganey helps us see and compare our outcomes with other like facilities throughout the country.
