This facility is not right off the highway and can be accessed by several different exits

From I-395 S

  1. Take I-395 S to CT-32 S in Waterford. Take exit 5 from I-395 S

  2. Continue on CT-32 S.

  3. Continue onto Eugene O’Neil Dr

  4. Turn right onto Governor Winthrop Blvd

  5. Turn left onto Huntington St

  6. Turn right onto Jay St

  7. Continue onto Truman St

  8. Turn right onto Bank St

  9. Turn Left onto Montauk Ave (Chelsea Groton Bank will be on the corner)

  10. Continue straight on Montauk Ave until you reach the hospital on the right side.

From I-95 S

  1. From I-95 S take exit 84 S-N-E for CT-32 toward New London/Hodges Sq/Norwich

  2. Slight right onto Williams St

  3. Turn right onto Garfield Ave

  4. Turn left onto Colman St

  5. Turn left onto Bank St

  6. Turn right onto Montauk Ave (Chelsea Groton Bank will be on the right-hand corner)

  7. Continue straight on Montauk Ave until you reach the hospital on the right side.

From I-95 N

  1. Follow i-95 N and take exit 82 for CT-85/Broad St toward Waterford

  2. Turn right onto CT-85/Broad St

  3. Turn right onto Jefferson Ave

  4. At the traffic circle, take the 2nd exit and stay on Jefferson Ave

  5. Turn right onto Colman St

  6. Turn left onto Bank St

  7. Turn right onto Montauk Ave (Chelsea Groton Bank will be on the right-hand corner)

  8. Continue straight on Montauk Ave until you reach the hospital on the right side. 


  1. Parking Information:  

   - Is there designated garage parking for patients? Yes, there is a parking garage accessible from the main entrance side and the emergency room side. Patient’s for HVC testing will want to use the entrance from the main entrance and park toward the blue colored elevators side of the garage 

   - If yes, which level of the garage is recommended for HVC visitors? Any level

   - Are there assigned parking spaces for patients? Patients can park anywhere aside from spots designated with specific pass requirements


  1. Building Entrance:
    - Is there a specific entrance to the building for HVC Visitors?

    • Yes, if your appointment is between 6:45am – 8pm you should enter through the Ambulatory Care Center (ACC) entrance located to the right of the main entrance. If your appointment is after 8pm you should enter through the main entrance. 

  • Are there any distinctive features or signage to identify the entrance easily? 

    • Main entrance is to the left and ACC is to the right 

  1. Elevator Directions

    • Upon registering, you will be given written instructions of how to get to the department. Ultrasound is in three different areas and floors throughout the hospital.

    • Same as above

  3. Registration Process:

    • Where is the registration area for HVC Appointments? Directly as you walk into the door. 

    • Is there an automated check-in machine and if so, where is it located? No

  4. Additional Landmarks:

    • Are there specific landmarks or points of reference inside the building that would assist patients in finding the HVC? No – ultrasound in in 3 different areas throughout the hospital. Upon registering, patient’s will be given written instructions of how to find the location of their test.

  5. Accessibility Features:

    • Are there any accessibility considerations or special routes for patients with mobility challenges? Yes, the hospital has a patient transport system, a transporter can be requested to help with wheelchair services. If you feel you may require these services, please arrive an additional 15 minutes early for your appointment.

  6. Noteworthy Instructions

Are there any unique or noteworthy instructions that patients should be aware of when navigating to the HVC outpatient center? No
