COVID-19 is mostly spread from person-to-person. There is currently no evidence of COVID-19 through food products. The likelihood of an infected person contaminating commercial goods and then catching the virus is also low since products are shipped over a period of days or weeks at cold temperatures, the virus has low survivability. There are no reported cases of COVID-19 in the U.S. associated with imported goods. Regardless, it is important to wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds and to practice general safety guidelines prior to preparing or eating food and handling packaging.
