Angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs) are a class of drugs used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). ARBs block the action of angiotensin II by preventing it from binding to angiotensin II receptors on blood vessels. This causes the blood vessels to dilate, lowering blood pressure.
