Anticoagulants work by decreasing the clotting ability of the blood. Commonly prescribed anticoagulants include Coumadin (warfarin), Pradaxa (dabigatran), Eliquis (apixaban), Xarelto (rivaroxaban) and Pletal (cilostazol).
