Cardiac catheterization is a diagnostic imaging technique that allows your doctor to assess or confirm the presence of coronary artery disease or cardiac valve disease in your heart. This technique also assesses the function of the cardiac muscle to determine whether additional therapy is required (such as stent implantation).
